What are the benefits of grape seed extract?
Grape seed extract contains abundant of antioxidants called Oligomeric Proanthocyanidin Complexes (OPCs) which is vital for cardiovascular health. Apart from OPCs, grape seed also contains flavonoids and linoleic acid which may help with poor circulation and protect our blood vessels from damage. Hence, it may indirectly help to promote healthy blood pressure.
Is there any supplement for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)?
Probiotics may improve IBS symptoms. Bifidobacterium strains, in particular may help to “balance” intestinal flora. A normal range for blood levels of Vitamin D is 25-35 ng/mL. It is common to be of vitamin D deficiency. Those with milk allergies or adhere to a strict vegan diet are those of higher risk of Vitamin D deficiency. To increase the level of Vitamin D in our body, you may expose your skin to the sun more as sunshine is the best natural source of Vitamin D. At the same time, take 1000IU of Vitamin D supplement on a daily basis. Always take your Vitamin D tablets with meal for best absorption.
The recommended dosage for fish oil supplement is three 1000 mg softgels. Does it seems a lot to take?
The recommended dosage is actually not governed by Health Science Authority (HSA) and often vary from product to product. This recommended dosage is meant for general cardiovascular health, as opposed to higher dose for specific health concern. For healthy adults, a daily dose of 800-1000 mg of EPA and DHA may be sufficient for heart, brain and eye health. Moreover, the amount of omega-3 you need also depends on your age, body size, health condition, type of omega-3 and more.
What is the difference between royal jelly and bee propolis supplement?
Royal jelly is a thick, milky substance that is secreted by worker bees to feed the queen and larvae while worker bees use propolis together with bees wax to build bee hives. Royal jelly contains proteins, sugar and fats, as well as HDA, which is unique in royal jelly and may improve immune system, boosts skin healing and collagen production. On the other hand, propolis is rich in amino acids, vitamins, minerals, essential oils, waxes and resin which may help to destroy pathogenic microbes.
Is it fine to store my supplements at room temperature?

When is the best time to take supplements?
– Always take your fat-soluble vitamins (Vitamins A, D, E, and K) and oil-based supplements with meals for maximum absorption
– Iron tablets are best taken in the morning with an empty stomach. Avoid caffeine and tannins which may affect absorption
– Splitting doses of Vitamin C throughout the day is recommended as Vitamin C only lasts for a few hours in the blood stream
– Always take your B vitamins in the morning with breakfast to keep your energy levels high
– Never take Zinc supplement on an empty stomach, always take with food. Also avoid taking together with Calcium or Iron as it may interfere with the absorption
– Evening is the best time to take Calcium supplements as it is best utilized at night
– Always take probiotics before meals to minimize interaction with digestive enzymes
– As Magnesium may help to make you sleepy, always take it before bedtime

Both my parents are experiencing vision loss due to increase in age, is there any supplements to help?
Our “Holistic Way” Supervision contains Bilberry Extract of the fruit, Lutein, carrot juice powder, Eyebright extract, multi-anthocyanidins, quercetin and rutin which may help to enhance general eye health. This product is not recommended for prolonged consumption. Always consult your physician for use beyond 4 weeks. Melatonin is indeed a hormone produced by the pineal gland, a small gland in the brain, that aids in control of our sleep-wake cycle. Scientific research has been done for taking up to 10mg of melatonin for 4 weeks, aiming for those with insomnia and sleep-wake disturbance.
I am a vegetarian. What are the supplements that I should take?

My doctor has diagnosed me with borderline high blood pressure. Is there any supplement that can help me to regulate my blood pressure back to normal?
The most appropriate way to lower your blood pressure will be having a sensible diet and regular exercise. However, supplements such as fish oil, flaxseed oil or Coenzyme Q10 may help to regulate our blood pressure as well. I am currently on blood thinning medication. Which supplements should I avoid?
